Temporary Part Time Probation Hostel Support Worker

Location: Derby

Salary: £16,905 per annum, pro rata

Contract: 18.5 hours per week, temporary to 30 September 2012

An exciting opportunity has arisen to gain experience of community based responses ro reduce offending and protect the public.  Burdett Lodge is an approved probation and bail hostel and is situated in Derby.  It provides accommodation for 27 residents and is committed to improving service provision.  Residents are predominantly offenders who have been released from prison or occasionally, are awaiting sentence by the Courts.

If you have good communications skills, the ability to work to standards and deadlines, are flexible and adaptable and are able to deal with difficult people effectively and work with people from a range of ethnic, social and cultural backgrounds, this opportunity may be for you.

Residential experience, whilst not essential, is desirable.  The posts all involve shift work covering nights and weekends, for which additional payments are made.  Burdett Lodge is a partially smoking environment.
