The Attorney General, the Rt Hon Baroness Scotland QC, has appointed Keir Starmer QC as the new Head of the Crown Prosecution Service and Director of Public Prosecutions. He took up post on 1st November 2008.

CPS out of hours service delivers half a million charging decisions
CPS Direct, the Crown Prosecution Service department set up to provide the police with out of hours advice on charging decisions, has now provided its half-millionth decision to police officers in England and Wales.
