Door-to-Door Sales of Household Products

 There have been reports from both Derbyshire residents and other areas, of people posing as ex-offenders and seeking to sell products and services door-to-door.  They claim to be working for a project that is backed by the Probation Service.Please be assured that no probation area has a scheme of this nature and our advice is not to buy from salespeople who claim to be part of this project. 

Anyone who knows of any person(s) who claim to be working with the authority of the Probation Service in this way should immediately contact Derbyshire Police on 0845 123 33 33, giving as much detail as possible about the person(s) and the business they claim to represent.

The police advise householders not to allow strangers into their home under any circumstances.  Legitimate door to door sales people will always have proof of identity. 

The Probation Service does not issue Identity Badges to offenders.
