If a person has a good education, training or a job he or she will be much less likely to reoffend.  That person has a much better chance to become a responsible and productive member of society.

Many offenders have left school with poor reading, writing or maths.  Many are unemployed and have few basic social and employment skills.  Our specialist team helps people to overcome these problems and lead a more productive life.

We work with other organisations to offer offenders the chance to gain basic skills in reading, writing and maths (literacy and numeracy).  We can offer support in CV writing and to seek employment.  We also help people to gain access to training for work skills.

REACH is a project about increasing a person’s ability to get and keep a job. The National Offender Management Service (NOMS) and the European Social Fund (ESF) pay for its costs.

Volunteer Mentors

We are looking for volunteers who will train as mentors to offenders who are being helped by the REACH project.  If you are interested, please contact the team for more information (tel. 01332 361 200).
