Services As an agency within the Criminal Justice System for England and Wales we supervise adult offenders in the community (those aged 18 years or over). These include offenders subject to a court order and those released from prison on licence after serving a prison sentence. In 2007/08 Derbyshire staff managed some 3850 offenders serving over 4000 orders. Derbyshire Probation provides services to the Magistrates and County Courts, has staff working within Sudbury and Foston Hall prisons, operates an Approved Premise (Hostel), arranges approved accomodation in liaison with accomodation providers and provides a range of specially designed programmes to help change the behaviour which leads people to offend. These programmes are accredited by the Home Office / Ministry of Justice. Details of the various services we provide can be found through the sub menues on the left of this page.
